This is PPS Project & Packaging Solutions

PPS is your first port of call for the preparation, packaging and intermediate storage of goods as well as the loading and unloading of containers for import and export at the Port of Hamburg. Innovations, partnerships and extended services turned the former WSG Warenumschlags Station Grasbrook into PPS Project & Packaging Solutions GmbH.

We are specialists for project shipments and the handling of out of gauge containers (OOG). Our company premises on Schilfstrasse have over 30,000 m² of space for transshipment. With hall space of around 8,300 m² and another 750 m² of covered outdoor areas, the inclement Hamburg weather can't affect us.. Nonetheless, at the heart of our company are our employees who rise to any challenge with their expertise and, in places, decades of experience – out of gauge in the most literal sense!

Experienced logistics – the history of PPS

Establishment of Warenumschlags Station Grasbrook

The company was founded in 1996 as Warenumschlags Station Grasbrook, or WSG for short, at ‘Schuppen 69’ on Nehlsstrasse in Hamburg.

1996

Move to Schilfstrasse

The company moved to its current location on Schilfstrasse after completion of the construction work in 2005.

2005

Conversion and extension

Several extensions and conversions enabled us to gradually expand our portfolio of services. They included converting one hall section into a fumigation facility and the purchase of a neighbouring plot to add four more halls for loading and unloading with overhead cranes.

2019 to 2021

Demolitions to create more truck storage space

An old office building on the purchased land was torn down to free up more space for delivering and collecting goods.

Renaming

WSG was renamed PPS – Project & Packaging Solutions GmbH – in 2023.

The principle of sustainability in the logistics sector

As a service provider for transshipment, it is imperative that sustainability should be integral to our philosophy. Global trade cannot be prevented, so it is up to us to build a positive future. This prompts us to work tirelessly on our processes, for example by establishing a fleet of electric forklifts, using LED lighting or optimising warehouse management and waste disposal.
